fragment 4

by kvennarad

My food is ashes, the conversation of friends is a sleet-cloud, the day’s start is a dampened finger drawn across a charcoaled sheet; we need our blameless love, free from shape, to make light of our grey experiments.

I realise that this blog, whilst it has remained a place where I can enter a daily short poem, has moved away from the strict concept of the ‘small stone‘ and towards a more general expression. Occasionally I do feel the gravity of haiku or something more defined than my looser daily offerings, but as often – more often maybe – my orbit is elliptical rather than geosynchronous to the third small stone from the sun, and I slingshot away again. I would like to thank everyone who reads this blog and my main site, and today I would especially like to thank Ermisenda and Eliabeth who nominated me for the Versatile Blogger award. It will take me a wee while to pay this award forward in the accepted manner, but I promise to do so.
