Forgetting the words
by kvennarad
When we mis-step our lively pentameter
we’ll skip, we’ll skat, we’ll lolly-toodum
along the verse till we’re in a solid chorus
and our songs, our rhyming-games,
make good, sound horse-sense again.
(Clippity-clop)
Love the way you skat, Marie, even when you forget the words 🙂
I skat, I skit, I freewheel. 🙂
And all very well, I might add, LOL LOL
I know a man who’d say that meter gives
a verse its soul before the sense of words
and we both know who that dear fella is!
Much enjoyed dear poet!
No, it just gives it an exoskeleton.
😉
i love being reminded of a forgotten hobby horse
that goes from rusted springs in a dusty basement
to a very real gallop over real road and before long
human partner saying giddyup and maybe horsehuman
flying like a hawkhuman.
You took the words right out of my mouth.
Beautifully expressed and it enlivens all my senses! Even the scraping of my knee after riding my rocking horse at three and skipping to my yard to catch my wind! BEAUTIFUL ! Thank you
🙂
Kv may i ask a silly question ? Is there a specific group of bloggers that define themselves as poets which I can belong to? I’ve received no reply from the main operators of the site. Thank you kindly for your time.
Regarding the ‘specific group of poets’, I guess the answer is anyone who posts on WordPress under the ‘poetry’ tag regards himself/herself as a poet, though I have to say many of the offerings are singularly uninspiring (okay, that’s just a value judgment, I know).
If you write poetry, tag it and post it, and let me know. 🙂

Thank you again, you’re quite the guide and patient friend with me. Thank you M
