The Sun and Fog contested
The Government of Day –
The Sun took down his Yellow Whip
And drove the Fog away –
E.D.
But when the Sun had rested
And hid his Whip of Light –
The Fog laid down his Woollen Wrap
And owned the hushing Night –

Well done!
Thanks. 🙂
Excellent reply!
Thank you.
What a great idea for a writing exercise! 🙂
Love your response!
Answering a poem is something I seem to fall into from time to time. ED is a poet who always brings something out in me. I love the way she plays with gentle images and rhythms, and with the softest of rhymes and slanted rhymes.
Recently, I started reading a Dickinson compilation. Right before I sit down with a novel, I read a few poems. I love how her words linger well after reading them.

Very nice!
Wonderful works, both, M. Fog may be but you shine through.
sounds like she could have written this reply, they fit together so very well!
Now that really is a compliment.
