there’s so much that we can do with our hands – make feeling the other at home

The picture came first. By and large I distrust and dislike the IT-age practice of producing poems-with-pictures; it seems to me like cheating or a device to distract, because we writers should be able to paint adequately with our words. That’s why my normal practice is to present my poems is images of text in an unattractive font; thus if the words stand or fall it’s on their own merit.
However, sometimes I want to share with my readers any image that had led to a poem. A while ago a good friend drew to my attention to a large number of old photos of female couples (in Pinterest), and I have been looking at them ever since, and writing about them whenever something strikes me.
That’s understandable, to want the words to stand on their own merit. Still, when I hit the wall and cannot write a thing due to life getting in my way, using all my energies, I can still find something to write about in a prompt of either words or photos. I like what you did here, 🙂
