Autumnal thoughts that tumble into place
Form images that dance like falling leaves
Then stack your dreams as farmers stack their sheaves
And give this fruitful time a pretty face.
Another year to lead you in the chase
Another winter comes for you to beat
And everyone’s a challenge we must meet
With twos and threes to trump the flying Ace
Tough time may come when we kiss youth adieu
And start to think of peaceful middle age
I rather doubt that silence beckons you
A poetess who speaks from centre stage
So chase your dreams all through the coming fall
The years can touch the life inside at all!
Lovely sonnet, you do them surpassing well as ever 🙂
Praise from Caesar, Crickster!
